outfit post: leopard

American Apparel black raglan pullover;  Zara leopard print full skirt;  Ferragamo black patent Varina ballet flats (not shown);  Mulberry black oversized Alexa;

The other night the boy and I went out for dinner with some friends, to a Japanese restaurant in the city.  It had a touch-screen menu at the table, and I am such a sucker for that.   We always end up ordering way too much food and cocktails as it's so easy to go 'oohh look at that! *order*'  So much fun though.

It was also the first outing for my Alexa and my new Zara skirt.  The skirt is soooo poofy it's insane, it's almost at a 90 degree angle to my body!  This plus the fact it's quite short means it's quite indecent without thick tights, and despite said tights, I made my boyfriend walk directly behind me when going up stairs.  Will have to exercise caution with this one.  I love it all the same though, I’m obsessed with all things leopard print at the moment and this skirt is a welcome addition to my wardrobe!

PS.  Who else watched the Royal Wedding last night?  Wasn’t it beautiful?  I loved Kate’s dress, she looked amazing <3

outfit post: trench weather

Zara black full skirt dress;  Zara beige trench coat;  Wittner 'Beatrix' heels;  Mimco 'Dig It' watch;  Hermes clic clac;
MAC Ruby Woo lipstick;

I only just realised both my coat and dress are from Zara.  Purely coincidental, because although this dress was bought a mere week ago, this trench is over a year old, bought in New York, which I lived in last Winter.  I love the puffy sleeves!  It's been freezing in Sydney lately, perfect coat weather!

I've been living in MAC Ruby Woo lipstick lately.  Wearing red lipstick makes me feel so much more polished and glam, and makes a boring outfit seem so much more interesting than it really is!

long weekend

*Snuggling in the new PJ pants my boy's mum gave me  *Belated birthday pressies from my lovely friend  *Eating many Lindt chocolate bunnies  *Buying new polishes from the OPI Pirates of the Caribbean collection

Aarrghh back to work tomorrow!  Hope everyone had a lovely long weekend xx

purchased: introducing alexa

My Mulberry Alexa arrived a few days ago, and I'm so in love!  The leather is so buttery and soft, and it's so roomy inside, it fits all my stuff, and it's not even that heavy to carry in my hand (which is what I was worried about).

I'm still getting used to handling it, trying to get it open and closing all the clips and buckles when I'm carrying it in my hand, which is a bit tricky, but I'm sure I'll get used to it.

purchased: zaraaaa!

As you no doubt already know, Zara opened its first store in Australia yesterday, after months of anticipation!  Luckily I have a very understanding boss who let me leave the office at 10am yesterday to stand for hours in line to get inside.

The store was a shambles, clothes, bags and shoes everywhere, and so full of people you could barely move.  By the time I got inside I'd already been away from work for an hour, so I just grabbed the first things I saw that I liked, regardless of size.  I did fairly well I think, the pants I bought are slightly too tight but I can either lose weight or exchange them...

I LOVE that last dress, it's high neck with a full skirt to the knee, so I'd be able to dress it up or just wear it with heels to work.  Plus, it was marked as $119 but scanned in at $89!  Scoreeee.

The leopard skirt and the red skirt were both on my wishlist when I was browsing Zara's website to buy when I was in Japan.  I was so excited to see them that I grabbed them and didn't even check the size.  Luckily they fit, although I could have gone a size down in the red skirt.

Looking forward to when the hype dies down a bit and I can browse properly!  Oh this is going to be so bad for my bank account...

birthday celebrations pt. 2

Thanks for the birthday wishes lovelies! <3  I had a great day yesterday!

Dress: Dahlia  Ankle boots: Sportsgirl  Necklace: Tiffany  Bangles: Hermes, Tiffany & Mimco  Handbag: Marc by Marc Jacobs

Had a delicious Mexican dinner last night, followed by my favourite dessert, cheesecake!  How cool are these black glittery candles?

Some of the lovely pressies I received.  My boy surprised the hell out of me with this Tiffany key necklace, I'd wanted one for ages but never really gotten around to buying one (plus Tiffany is always so much better when it's bought for you).  This was one of the first gift-giving occasions where I hadn't told him what to buy me, so I was very surprised and pleased that he got it so right!

The nail polishes were also from the boy - upon my annoucement the other day after counting all my polishes that I had 147, he found a tub of NYC polishes in the 7-11 on King Street on Saturday night, and bought me 3 to bring me up to 150.  So sweet!

This lamp is from my Mum - she and I have completely different tastes, she's more shabby-chic and country and I'm more alternative, but she too gets it so right when it comes to interior gifts!  This lamp is huge and it takes up my entire bedside table, but I love it to bits.

In other news, I received a dispatch email about my Alexa today, so it should be in my hot little hands in a few days!  Stay tuned!

xx

birthday celebrations pt. 1

It's my birthday tomorrow!  After 24 years, I still get as excited about my birthday as I did when I was little.  Back then it was about the presents (of course!) but now the part I love most is having all the people I love in the same room at once, and sometimes more than once.

Last night my friends and I went out for dinner and drinks in Newtown (spot the gorgeous PinkPenguin behind me in the first photo!), and had an amazing night.  Many margaritas were consumed, and lots of laughter and great conversation.  PP gave me this beautiful Mimco bracelet, which I've actually been eyeing off lately!  It's so me and she chose so well!  Thanks gorgeous! <3

Last pic is of the delicious chocolate cake my grandma made me for lunch at my Mum's today.  I love the little fairy candles that Mum got me.

I also wore my new tulle skirt for the first time, and loved it even more than I thought I would!  Outfit stuff:

Top: American Apparel  Skirt:  Markets  Ankle boots: Tony Bianco  Bracelet: Mimco  Handbag: Marc by Marc Jacobs

Tomorrow will just be a regular work day ( :( ) but my boy is coming to take me out to lunch, and we're going out for a yummy Mexican dinner tomorrow night, yay!

omgomgomgomg it's mine.

Well...it will be when it arrives.  I'm saying it's my birthday present to myself, but who am I kidding, I would have bought it anyway.

Love.

this week

1.  Lolly getting excited about shopping bags.  That's my girl.
2.  Beautiful sunset from my balcony.
3 & 4.  Getting into the vampy nail polish colours again now that the weather has cooled down.  Essie Little Brown Dress and a purple colour I invented by layering Rimmel Perfect Plum over Revlon Plum Night.  Love the blue shimmer!
4.  Walking past this every day.  Only 8 days to go!
5, 6 & 7.  Quick shots from a hens party I went to on Saturday night.  The only outfit shot I got (sneakily taken in my friend's apartment) and the Italian feast we had.  Loved the half-metre pizzas!

10 April 2011

market day

American Apparel 'El Salvador' black lace tee;  Bardot black waxed cropped jeans;  Witchery black patent ballet flats;  Marc by Marc Jacobs Classic Q Drawstringy satchel;  Mimco 'Catfurther' tortoiseshell sunglasses;  Hermes clic clac;  Mimco 'Dark Secret' bracelet;  Etsy sideways cross necklace;

Yesterday the lovely PinkPenguin and I went to Glebe Markets, where we spent a lovely day browsing, finding vintage treasures and taking photos!  PP got a great haul (check it out on her blog!), and we both got this beautiful tulle skirt.  Love that it's knee length, and only $30!  I also got an Essie nail polish crossed off my wishlist (Mint Candy Apple), for only $3!
